    Hi

    I think there a problem with chartboost latest SDK for android, it always crash the app

    D/ActivityThread( 7181): hoder:android.app.IActivityManager$ContentProviderHolder@415706e0,provider,holder.Provider:android.content.ContentProviderProxy@4156f3b8

    V/Provider/Settings( 7181): from db cache, name = android_id , value = 9c2525f31343e372

    F/libc ( 7181): Fatal signal 11 (SIGSEGV) at 0x00477024 (code=1), thread 7346 (alward.Dominoes)

    F/libc ( 7181): Send stop signal to pid:7181 in debugger_signal_handler

    But when replace the chartboost.jar by the one with the sample code its working great

    Hi,

    are you trying to run our demo project on Github or your own project? If it’s the demo project which crashes, could you please send it to support@felgo.com?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi,

    we unfortunately can’t reproduce the issue with our test projects and the integration guide, could you probably move your custom QML files out of the project temporarily and send it to us (support@felgo.com) so that we can have a look at it?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Mathias,

    please use the Chartboost libraries that come with the GitHub sample. Currently only Chartboost 4 is supported, we’ll update the Chartboost plugin to work also with Chartboost 5 with the next releases.

    Cheers, Chris

    Hi Chris.
    I’m now getting the the same error with old chartboost.jar. I think the error is not only related to the chartboost version. I did not have this error before i updated chartboost plugin today. The demo plugin was running once and then when running it again without changing the code it fails to run. I redownloaded the project from github to make sure i didnt change something by accident but, I get the same error. During my tests most of the time the demo project fails to run, but so far the deployment on device was successful randomly two times. I have not managed to recreate the scenario when build was successful. I’ve tried to restart phone, qt creator, laptop, remove application, build folder, project, but no luck so far. The strange thing is that it works sometimes but most of the time not, without changing the code. Here is what i get, now using chart boost demo directly from github:

    D/libEGL  ( 8931): loaded /system/lib/egl/libGLESv2_mali.so
    D/OpenGLRenderer( 8931): Enabling debug mode 0
    F/libc    ( 8931): Fatal signal 11 (SIGSEGV) at 0x80000019 (code=1), thread 8983 (hartboostSample)

    "net.vplay.plugins.ChartboostSample" died.

    Do you have the same problem?

    – Mathias

    I read that SIGSEV means segmantation fault in native code, so i guess there is some bug in the plugin when accessing memory. Since the application starts and crashes randomly i guess the application is sometimes trying to write where it is not allowed. Can you please look in to it asap. I depend on this.

    Hi Maitek

    Doing these steps may help you

    1-Delete the build folder (very important to make sure that you have fresh chartboost.jar)

    2-Clean the project

    3-Run qmake

    4-Restart QT creator

    5-Build again and try to run on device

    Good luck

    Forget to mention this

    add to .pro file

    LIBS += -lChartboostPlugin

    and comment these 2 lines from chartboost code

    //shouldRequestInterstitial:true
    //shouldDisplayInterstitial:true
    #8341

    Mathias

    Hi maysalward,

    Thanks a lot for your reply. While your suggestions did not help with the crashing problem, pointing out LIBS += -lChartboostPlugin helped me with another chartboost problem I have been struggling with for a long time: https://felgo.com/developers/forums/t/problems-with-chartboost-plugin/

    This was NOT mentioned anywhere in the chartboost plugin integration documantation, here or here, and its absence will produce the following error:

    AndroidRuntime(28601): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate application net.vplay.helper.VPlayApplication: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.vplay.helper.VPlayApplication

    The crashing problem still how ever remains. Commenting out the following

    //shouldRequestInterstitial:true

    //shouldDisplayInterstitial:true

    has no affect on the crashing in my experience. It just disables interstitial, which is what I want to use in the first place.

    Delete buildfolder, clean all, restart qt creator, run qmake are all tricks I’ve tried but do not affect the problem. The crashing happens randomly at start of the game. If the game starts chartboost works perfectly. Even if the game crashes when I first build it, I can try to reopen it using the icon. If it randomly opens everything works fine, but most of the time it crashes. This happens with my game as well as with the v-play chartboost demo. I’m using the chartboost.jar from the demo project found in github.

    I believe there is a bug in the current version of the v-play chartboost pluging, causes a segmentation fault and crashes game at startup. This is out of my reach.

    Hi Maitek

    did you update v-play plugins using maintenance tool?

    i think they have an update for chartboost , anyway you can check it

    this may help

    Sorry for that, we just pushed a new version of our documentation with the hint!

    Have you already updated your Chartboost plugin installation to the latest version 1.0.4 as suggested by maysalward? Which version of the Chartboost jar are you using?

    Thanks,

    Alex
