    Hi,

    Looking at the licensing terms for the “free” option, it states 2 unsettling things.

    1. Unable to modify Splash Screen
    2. Revenue (Profit + Funding)

    Now, considering that I have no desire to create a game using this framework. I am only interested in using it for Android & iOS application development, this seems more like a license focused towards game development.

    Applications do not use splash screens, so this isn’t a deal breaker for me and my project. As for the revenue, again, this seems like it’s catered towards games development.

    My questions are,

    1. Would a project that is primarily focused on “application” development and not game development, would it be possible to not have a splash screen?
    2. Would your licensing terms consider an application that is free but takes subscriptions (not from the app stores but from another payment processor)  eligible to pay for a higher tier subscription model? The application for Android and iOS would be an addition to a desktop platform so technically, the apps themselves don’t generate any revenue.

    Hi Lee,

    we do not differentiate between apps or games for our pricing model, you can develop both with Felgo. As all Felgo core features are usable for free (including monetization plugins like AdMob or Soomla In-App Purchases), you can start creating apps or games that generate revenue without having a paid license. I do not see why the pricing model does not fit apps?

    The only “cost” you have with the free model is the Felgo Splash Screen at startup. It does not matter whether you create apps or games: If your business already creates revenue above the free plan limit, regardless of direct revenue from your apps or other pricing models, you are probably a perfect fit for the Indie Plan:

    • No more splash screen at startup.
    • Access to all Felgo Plugins for advanced features like analytics, push notifications, etc …
    • Priority Support (incl. 1 hour personalized tech-support)
