    I can’t seem to get some sound effects to play, such as those that occur frequently, like firing a gun. Sometimes the sound goes mute for over 5 seconds before it plays again. Is there a work around for this?

    there is a bug in Qt’s SoundEffect Item that we are using internally, we hope it get’s fixed with the next Qt version. Meanwhile please try the workaround I suggested in my last post at this thread.

    However, I’m still using the SoundEffect element. I did notice that most of these errors were caused by:

    – firing a sound twice at the same exact time. for example, if the play() function is called from two different elements at the same time.

    – having an audio file less than 1 second long.

    Editing some of my sounds (using Audacity) to 1 second or over, and assigning different sound elements for individual callers solved many of my sound problems.

    I’m not sure if this will work for anyone else but it’s work a mention.
