    Following this tutorial:

    https://felgo.com/doc/how-to-add-spine-animations-to-your-felgo-game/

I exported a simple FFD, and it doesn’t actually do anything. The game compiles just fine (and running the game sometimes is fine but othertimes it crashes), however running the animation does nothing…infact the sprite either shows up but is broken, is invisible, or takes a piece of some other graphic. The exporter also uses the old vplay import but it doesn’t matter as importing Felgo 3.0 doesn’t do anything to help.

Upon further inspection of the QML, the following gives an “Unknown Component”

    BoneTransform
    Slot
    Attachment
    SpineMeshItem
    SpineImagePacked

    Hi,

you can find a Spine example in your installation folder, at “Examples\Felgo\examples\sprites\spine”.

You can compare the export format if there are any differences that might be incompatible?

    Cheers,
    Alex

I have checked the example, they are the same, missing components

Can I get an update? I feel like I’m being ghosted for asking about core features

    Hi Ginzo,

it is okay that the components within your Spine Item (like “Slot”) are marked as “Unkown Component”. These types are internal not part of the public Felgo API.

Are you able to successfully use the Spine Items of Examples\Felgo\examples\sprites\spine\SpineExample.qml (e.g. the Dragon)?
If not, do you see any Spine-related error messages in your Application Output?

Which platform are testing your app on? Does this issue happen only on Desktop or on mobile as well?

    Best,
    Günther from Felgo

    Dragon (SS) works perfectly

Goblin(FFD) only works if you change the skin to the female skin, otherwise it’s broken (you see just a dagger, shield and some weird graphical glitches),

Spineboy(no FFD/SS) is broken, only the head moves

Can I get an update on this? I have an animator sitting, waiting so we know how we can resolve this issue. It’s quite a big problem as we intended to use free form deformation as a basis for our animations.

    Hi,

For the SpineBoy example, it is correct that the animation only moves the head. This leaves the problem with the partly broken rendering of the Goblin (one skin affected). The Spine Animation of your project seems to suffer from the same issue, correct?

-> I filed a bug report for glitches in the Spine FFD rendering.

Which platform are testing your app on?

Does this issue happen when running the app on mobiles (iOS or Android) as well?

I will update the report with this information then so one of our developers can have a look. Depending on the internal priority of all tasks and issues, the fix can take a while. If you require a solution sooner, the Felgo Team can have an immediate look at the problem as part of our tech support offering. Felgo Indie and Enterprise also come with some tech support included, which you can use this way.

Let me know if this is interesting for you!

    Best,
    Günther

Gunther, thank you for the follow up, it occurs on Android, and PC. I have not tested it on iOS however I imagine it would be similar. Additionally, even if I had the license, wouldn’t asking to have a bug fixed be a waste of that included support? Would it not be intended to help development as per how its advertised instead?

    Hi Ginzo,

we simply offer app development and training/consulting services. On which feature the development hours are exactly spent is fully up to you.

    Best,
    Günther
