Is there a way for me to create a simple local highscore system instead of the VPlayGameNetwork? The only score it would need to track is your best.

What do you mean with local? Only saving the best score of a player on his own device?

Then you can use the local database with settings.setValue(key,value) and settings.getValue(key).

You could also use the settings.maximumHighscore property, this one is stored in a local database automatically. This can also be found here: http://felgo.com/doc/vplay1-gamewindow/#settings-prop
