Hi,

I have problem with the chartboost plugin. I’ve done the following:

1. at Chartboost dashboard:

1.1. created local Android application,

1.2. created Rewarded Video campaign,

1.3. switched on the application’s Test mode (for 120 minutes),

2. implemented the Chartboost qml component*.

 

When I use interstitials everything works fine. However when I try to show/cache the rewarded video ad, the onRewardedVideoFailedToLoad method is called and the NO_AD_FOUND error occurs.

I’ve tried many different approaches, eg. caching video at launch:

Chartboost {
  ...
  Component.onCompleted: {
    cacheRewardedVideo()
  }
}

or before the first call:

function showVideo() {
  if(hasRewardedVideo())
    showRewardedVideo()
  else
    cacheRewardedVideo()
}

but without success. Any ideas what can be wrong?

Hi,

Did you manage to display any reward videos before, or did it never work for you at all?

I was able to (partly) reproduce your error.

I think Chartboost might experience some weird issues currently, because with the same code, I sometimes received rewarded videos and sometimes not, even though I tested in “Test Mode”. Usually, Test Mode should guarantee a 100 % fill rate.

Please let us know if the problem persists for you.

Well, it’s my first experience with Chartboost at all. The good news is that I’ve managed to run those ads. However I still don’t understand how it works. I’ll investigate it more deeply and share my observations.

Hi Pawel,

I have made similar experiences with Chartboost which sometimes left me confused and just went away a few days later.

The thing is that (from my personal experience) Chartboost just isn’t always able to deliver for all types of ads. What you could do to handle these cases is to add e.g. AdMob (http://felgo.com/doc/plugin-admob/) as well, and display an AdMob interstitial if Chartboost fails to load. Also, I’ve heard we might have a second Plugin that offers rewarded videos in the pipeline, so stay tuned 😉
