I’ve downloaded the Android SDK: on a Mac this is simply a .app file that goes in /Applications

So how do you set the path to it in the VPlay Preferences->Android “Android SDK Location” setting?

This thing appears to be wanting a “folder”, and so when I browse for the location, the “Android Studio.app” is greyed out.

Hi,

If you’re using the Android Studio Download the SDK is most likely within the .app bundle (which is basically just a folder) or will get installed after opening Android Studio for the first time.

Alternatively you can follow these steps:

• Download “android-sdk_r24.0.2-macosx.zip” from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#Other and extract it (e.g. to /Development/Android-SDK)
• Open the “android” binary from within the “tools” directory (most probably with a right click -> open as it is not signed by Google) & press the button “Install x packages”
• Download the Android NDK from https://developer.android.com/tools/sdk/ndk/index.html (you can use the 32 bit version as some Felgo community members reported an issue with the 64 bit download) and extract it (e.g. to /Development/Android-NDK)
• Open Qt Creator of your Felgo installation, open the preferences and add the SDK & NDK paths (see above) (the JDK location should be something like: /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK/Home)
• Restart Qt Creator to auto-set up the Android kits

Thanks for your fast answer.

For some reason, the SDK was never installed on my machine under /User/<user>/Library, as some document suggested it would be when I installed the Studio.

The separate SDK download that you describe appears to have worked.

… and I have to say I’m pretty impressed how easy it was to run the template app on the Android device: nice smooth integration there!

How do I extract the android-ndk file, nothing seems to work 🙁 Oh and I´m a mac newbie 🙂
