    Hi,

I’m trying to use the Plugin AdMon with the AdMobInterstitial object.

The 1st interstital called is displaying and closing well, and the different signals are working well too.

But the next calls to :

    showInterstitialIfLoaded()

    after the calls to :

    loadInterstitial()

    are not working.

The insterstitial is never displayed and after each call to :

    showInterstitialIfLoaded()

the console returns these 2 messages:

W HwRemoteInputMethodManager: isCasting false because IHwDistributedWindowManager is invalid.
W Ads : The interstitial ad has been shown.

Any idea about this and how can I do to fix this?

I’ve tried both with the test Ids given in the Felgo doc and with my own AdMob Ids, but same results, the next interstitials are never displayed after the 1st one.

    Hi Jean-Marc,

on which platform (Android/iOS), phone model and OS version does the issue occur for you?

    Hi Günther,

sorry I forgot to mention it’s for Android.

    I’ve tested this with :

    • Huawei P8 Lite 2017 with Android 8.0.0
    • Huawei Mate 20 Lite with Android 12.0.0
    • RedMi Note 10 Pro with Android 12
    • Asus Zenfone X00TD with Android 9

    Hi Jean-Marc,

We deployed an update for the AdMob Android plugin to solve the problem.
Please create a fresh and clean rebuild, and maybe also clear the Gradle cache. The latest version should be used in your build then.

To clear the Gradle cache you can:
    – Locate the folder of the Gradle casche, usually this is $USER_HOME/.gradle/caches
    – Rename the whole .gradle folder (not only the caches folder), or copy it as backup and delete it

A new build will then create .gradle folder again. All dependencies are loaded fresh, so the first build might take a bit longer.

Can you confirm this works for you?

    Best,
    Günther

Hi Günther and thank you for the update, but…

I followed the whole procedure (I even did it twice): deleted the “gradle” folder, rebuilt from scratch, but nothing has changed, there is still only the display of the 1st “interstitial”, and it still doesn’t want to display a 2nd one… Always with the same message in the console:
W Ads : The interstitial ad has been shown.

    What could cause this?

    Best,
    Jean-Marc

    Hi Jean-Marc,

are you working with Felgo 3 or Felgo 4?

We initially added the fix for Felgo 4 as it is the main release. You can try again now if this was the case. The solution is now ported back to Felgo 3 as well.

    Now it works! 🤩
In fact, my game was started 2 years ago (so with Felgo 3) because I did it in addition to the other projects so it took a while. A few months ago I tried to port it to Felgo 4 but there were too many things that didn’t work and it forced me to make too many modifications.
Maybe I did it wrong to make this game under Felgo 3, I don’t know, because I converted an app from Felgo 3 to Felgo 4 without difficulty, but here for this game I finally left it under Felgo 3.
When I reported the bug to you, I did it in the Felgo 3 forum, so I didn’t think to tell you that I was on Felgo 3 indeed.
But now it works, I’ll be able to finish and launch the game!
Thank you for your support and responsiveness!
    I love Felgo!

    Best,
    Jean-Marc

Happy to hear it works now!

I didn’t realize this was posted in the Felgo 3 forum at first – thanks for clarifying!
We are still maintaining Felgo 3 and Qt 5 will be officially supported until 2025. Afterwards a switch to Qt 6 and Felgo 4 will be definitely needed to stay up-to-date with latest platform and OS versions.

Ok, understood for Qt5 and Felgo 3 support! That’s normal.
I’ve already started 2 new games and so I’m making them with Felgo 4 of course.
Just one more question: will Texture Packer be supported in a future version of Felgo 4? Because if I understand correctly, currently it is only supported in Felgo 3…

    Hi Jean-Marc,

there are currently no plans to port the Texture Packer components to Felgo 4, due to lack of demand.

    Best,
    Alex
